I've done some browsing on Google and haven't ran into any concrete answers, but was wondering if it's plausible for a Warrant Officer in Intelligence able to cross train into the SF WO field? Or will there be bureaucratic snags when a Warrant wants to transfer/cross train because of their expertise value? Thanks again in advance.

I'm confused by the post, are you talking Air Force or Army? Neither 35F nor 18F are Warrant Officer MOSs.

Not an SF guy, but been a WO for over 15 years, and in a nutshell......No. Warrant Officers are technical experts, not interchangable between MOS. If you want to be a Warrant, great goal, go get about ten years expirience in your MOS and then apply.

Sorry, I was referring to the 180A and 350B W.O. career fields.

Makes sense. Seems like I'd have to make the decision when that time comes. Pursue W.O. or cross-train. We will see, but thanks for the input.

I think you would have to.....

Go through selection....

Obtain an 18 series MOS...... (Read attend the Q course)

Go back through the Warrant Course.......

Despite what you might have seen and what some 180A's may practice, they occupy an MTO&E Position on an ODA.

That means you have to do everything the NCO's and Officers do. There is no cross training from outside of the 18 series MOS'.

Allow a former "blue-suiter" to step in here for a moment. The USAF did away with warrant officers years ago; one is either enlisted or commissioned.

Use to be, not sure if still is, you had to have at least 3 years ODA time (which means you have an 18 series MOS) before you could apply to be a 180A WO.
