Pardon the intrusion into your forum.............that was a very fine tribute to a special breed of warrior. Welcome Home guys and RIP to those many thousands at the final LZ.

My uncle was a "Man in the Door" in Vietnam, two tours. I took a ride on a 60 about a month ago and watched those Soldiers work. On the gun, in the door, constantly looking. Those men do a tough ass, and often thankless job. After the pilots fill out the logbook and jet to chow, the crewdawgs are back to work on the very aircraft they were manning a gun on just a few hours ago, getting ready for the next mission. I can't thank them enough, then and now....

Concur!
God bless em!
I went to a reunion (101st) a few years ago, I was talking to several of my old friends, aviators from 40 years ago. I heard a voice from behind us.."I have heard that voice in my helmet thousands of times." "Damn, sir I heard you died after you were medevaced out!" It was my old c/e from 65-66.
That made my day!
