I'm flying to Gabon tomorrow (I'm in Cameroon at the moment) and would be grateful for any current int/contacts/experiences there.

Never been there but have been to other west African countries. Can't be any worse than where you're at now. It is after all Africa and that pretty much speaks for itself. If I never have to set foot on that continent again it wouldn't be a loss for me.
