View Full Version : PCU LEVEL 6 Goretex
Has anyone used the PCU System from beyondclothing dot com? Particularly the Level 6 Goretex Jacket and Pants? Just wanting to hear some feedback to see if purchasing would be justifiable.

I'm issued the PCU system, there's too much shit in there and you can get overwelmed as to what clothing to wear. I've worn various parts of the PCU during ARF's on open door HH60's in OIF and during HAHO ops when the temp was pretty cold. It does keep you warm when you got the right level on.

Did you not watch the CD that came with it?
Most of mine just stays on top of my locker, but it did come in handy at SFAUCC

I love the PCU issue, though there is way too much shit to take the whole thing on a deployment.
The goretex jacket is a very good appropriately made jacket for combat. It is lightweight but reasonably tough and is well made. The hood will also fit over most helmets.
I love the big 'overcoat' for long, cold drives in the back of a GMV because it will keep you warm but can be shrugged off in a moment if you have to dismount and walk (you wear it over all your kit).
I also use the lightweight tops a lot, though I rarely use any of the pants.
Thanks the feedback helps a lot. Living where I do, its almost mandatory that you have goretex. I had one person recommend getting gear from the above named website. I just want to make damn sure it is durable. Most the places I hunt you have to break through very dense tree lines to access area's that allow you to get to a decent place to glass. I don't want the stuff to rip first trip out. Its spendy, and I'm paying for it out of pocket.
