I've traveled through Heathrow 4 or 5 times, and I hate it. My question is does anyone think I can fly into Heathrow from Turkey and make to American Airlines in 2 hrs....There is another flight with 3 hrs in between, I wonder if I could make in 3 hrs ?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Short answer is yes, but you might have to haul ass.
What terminals in and out? Depending on the answer it's either going to be tight or incredibly easy.
And if for some reason there's a delay and you miss your connection, as long as you've booked your tickets all the way through with the same agent, they'll get you on the next thing smoking.
If you're flying in from Itansbul on Turkish Air, you're coming into T3. BA you're coming into T5.
AA from London to JFK flies out of T5 (mostly) but the odd flight out of T3.
These never change, so if you've booked a flight now, the delays or early arrivals are almost always the same. Just make a comparison against your intinerary:

I'm not sure which terminals....It'll be Turkish Air in, American out...I'm hoping they might be in the same terminal.
Thanks Kirk

OK, that means you're coming into T3 and more than likely leaving from T5. They won't check your bags all the way through, so you'll have to haul ass. Get sat at the front of the plane from Istanbul and before you check in, go to a BA desk and ask exactly what your gate is going to be when you get to London. They can send a message ahead of you.
However, T5 is a dream when it comes to security. Fastest I've ever been through.

I take the Turkish airlines flight from Istanbul to T3 LHR every couple of months or so. I have never had a delayed flight time yet. They are pretty good at getting you off the ground in Istanbul.
If your JFK flight is American Airlines, it will also go from T3. However, many of the American Airlines services from LHR - JFK are code-shared and British Airways are the carrier, which means that as Kirk said, you need to take the transport to T5. Well worth doing your homework.
Best of luck.

Thanks,
Which is why I checking this out now, I'm sure the 2hrs between landing and taking off isn't going to work. But my gut tells me if I do what Kirk suggested, sit up front on Turkish Air, and bust my ass I can make it in 3 hours.
BTW Kirk ....BA... British Airways ?

Yup, British Airways. They normally carry the AA flight and gate data (as Invictus mentioned). They should be able to let you know where you're running to in London and get a message ahead so they might be able to hold the plane or at least put your name out over the speakers so you can get through. All depends on how 'professionally tenacious' you are.
Edited: BA might even be able to do a pre-check in and get your bags checked through, but I really doubt it. Never hurts to ask, but you risk not seeing your shit for a day or so on the other end.
Worse comes to worse, being stuck at Heathrow isn't so bad, especially T3 and T5. Good restaurants, bars and free wi-fi. The newish T5 even has a Gordon Ramsay owned pub if you want to drop some cash. Steaks are small but good.

Three hours is enough time to go from T3 to T5 I think. I cant say enough good about LHR T5, it really is awesome.
Like Kirk said, T5 is a dream for security. You will find yourself being pissed at other airports when you remember how much traffic that airport has to push through.
The food there is great. There is a pub called Huxley's as you come out of security that I like, and I recommend a sandwich shop called EAT (somewhere after gate A10 or 12 I think) to grab something for the air in case the in flight meal to JFK isn't good. Their menu is made fresh daily and tastes great.
I plan to check out Ramsay's place sometime, but mostly I'm in the mood for a beer and something quick to eat when passing through. His menu looks good though.

You guys make me want to go there just to eat chow.
And I hate England. It is the weather, and all of the fat, rude women in their pubs. (They come over here on "holiday," and give me insight into the real reasons for the decline of the British Empire).
The weird thing is, British society ladies were the ones who wrote the book on how to act like a lady. The apples sure have fallen far from the trees in the intervening years.

Yeah the food here in the UK is pretty good. I live a 10 min walk away from the second Pub in the UK to get a Michelin Star, and the only one in London.

As far as British chicks, there are quite a few hot ones. Point is, come over and I'll take you on the 25 cent SOCNET tour Brother. You won't be dissapointed.

Huxley's is pretty good, part of the Tragus Group and those guys have yet to put out a bad restaurant. EAT is a big chain and almost everywhere there's high footfall in the UK (trains stations, main streets etc). Pretty good stuff on the move.
They really pushed the boat out at T5 as far as chow and it's really paid off. The bidding process for their Air and Land side slots was insane.
