Wow, it has been a while. Life got really hectic and now it is finally slowing down again. Ill put a short list so you guys can mock us millennials and tell us back in your day you did ten times the amount of work we do.

I worked 50 hours a week life-guarding at two town pools.
I have started my senior year in High school.
I now work as a lifeguard year round.
I have started applying to colleges(massive pain in the ass).
I have started touring colleges (only ones with ROTC).
My number one pick right now though is Norwich University. So if any of you are Alum say "Cadet"

That is about it for the catching up portion but I do have some questions that I would like answered by you fine folks. I honestly dont know what branch I want to go into. At first I was all Air Force, then I had a change of heart and wanted to go Army Hoorah!, and now I might want to go Marines, Semper Fi! I honestly dont know what I want to do. Your thoughts on the matter will be greatly appreciated!

P.S. I do have a Army PFT coming up to try and get a scholarship so we will see how that goes.

Thanks for Reading,
J-Al

Truly, if you don't know, how are we supposed to tell you. Maturity and decision making skills is something we look for. Independent thought is a big plus.

Personally, I'm glad I didn't have the Internet to be able to ask strangers which service I should join and how to prepare. I just had to "man up" and take the shots as they came.

Best of luck to you!

Looks to me as though you don't really want or need advice from here.

Yeah I am. There was apparently something that I needed to be held back for in preschool so yeah.

Yeah...yeah.

How about saying...yes, sir, ma'am.

My son does this all the time and I slap him upside the head everytime he does it.

Show respect and you'll be shown respect...and more likely taken seriously.

Alright, so I didn't think that this thread would turn so hostile so I would like to apologize for my actions and statements in this thread. If any of you were truly offended please don't hesitate to PM me and yell at me there, but please don't call me out in front of anyone else.

Thank you for reading,

For the love of science, don't go Marines. Those dudes can be quite hostile.

If you're not open to constructive criticism and are easily offended, I question your maturity to serve in the military.

Sounds like you need to spend some time doing hard manual labor for minimum wages so you can figure out what exactly it is you want to do with your life.

You should have replied "Yes ma'am" I would have.

Just go join the Army, Marines, whatever. Just go do it. Pick something you think is cool for an MOS and go make it happen. If your chosen MOS sucks, you can re-class later. Dont stress out over all this 'my career has to be perfect' shit. Hell, even if you decide it isn't for you, its a short stint 2-4 years, or as long as you want.

Also, posting like this on Socnet is like sticking your finger in a sleeping Gorillas ass. It just isn't going to end well for you no matter your intentions. Live and learn young buck.

There is a metric shit ton of info on this site about all branches, MOS's. Search it, read it. Make your decision and get after it. Closed before the shitshow starts.
