In 1986, non-SF tab personnel assigned to the Special Forces Command were authorized to wear the Green Beret headgear (including women and men). Is this still policy?
If women can do their jobs, fine. If not, higher-ups will practice Cooing.

As far as berets go, I believe it was Tangney who said to the support personnel(paraphrased) "If you want a green beret, go to Selection and the Q-course." Amen. Support folks wear maroon berets now.

From 1985 to 1988(?), 5th Group's Ops NCOIC for the Group S-3 was a woman. SGM Pappy Jones (S-3 SGM) hand-picked her from an MI Unit in Germany. She was a take-no-prisoners NCO with a well developed BS Meter.

She made that shop hum for the teams. God Bless her.

Tracy, is that the same Pappy that teaches the C course at SWC now?

I'm currently in medical school at USUHS and some of the women here want to serve in Group as doc's. some of you operators out there may see them as they come for their summer military experience in July. Is there any type of selection process for SF support?
