Am I the only one having problems with their photo albums on SOCCHAT? I have deleted some photos to limit my album's size. I did this because it seem that size slowed bring it up. But, now I can't add some new photos!
Didn't try a new album!
Oh, I would like to know the history of the black SF patch that was placed in Jim's album. So, would the owner of this patch please relocate it and provide its history?
Sutherland has a similar black (subdued) SF patch in his book "Special Forces of the United States Army". He states "This was probably produced by an overzealous firm before the final specifications were in hand". Interesting!

Hi Carl;
I've been using my other ablbum to place photos of different items in answer to questions on SOCNET and have removed and replaced them a couple times. No problems so far, if using NETSCAPE 4.7 try using the I.E. browser been having problems with that one myself.
I've seen the SF black patch before, along with Spec. and Chevrons reversed from the DA approved . All were PX patches when we switched from the full color to the subdued(of course no issue patches were in country, had to go to the black market to see the real ones). None were authorized and those with then sewn on had to replace them asap. (on chevrons and Spec the eagle was OD, as were stripes with black background). No expert on dates and who made them but do remember them in PX, we thought great the black makes it stand out more than the color, will look good even through a PU scope 8(
Take care Carl, catch you latter...Jim

Sorry about putting the pic(s) in your album JY. I was unaware that the album was a private collection. They have been removed and placed in E19's album.
Carl the black SF SSI's as shown in the scan were issued to me by the CO of E Co 19th SFG.
I can't recall the exact date, however it was sometime between June 67 and July 68. We wore them for years. In that same time period we were issued new flashes. They were made of aqua naugahyde. Up till then all the AR & NG groups wore the the same flash (blue w/white border).
I was issued two different airborne tabs with the black SSI's. The type shown in the pic (airborne in black with OD border on OD background)and others with airborne in black w/black border on OD background.

E19,
Thanks for the info on the black SF patch! I have to admit that I don't remember them. But, I was overseas from late 66 through mid 69 (VN 67-69).
All,
I've been trying to place some ammo reloading info in my SOCCHAT photo album, but it isn't working for me. I have some chronograph printouts that indicate muzzle velocity and more importantly the extreme spread and Standard Deviation which are measures of consistency.
I also have some of my competition shooting records at 600 yards with M1A/M14 (gasgun w/match iron sights) that I offer as a challenge. Yes, you can use your sniper rifles with scopes and have two sighting shots. The challenge is, can you read the wind/conditions and shoot as well. The 22 rounds have to be fired within 22 minutes at 600 yards. Oh, no bipods or sandbags or benchrests, i.e., you have to hold your rifle. The long range target's x-ring is 6 inches and the 10-ring is 12 inches in diameter.
Now, I need to get them in my album!
Hold'em hard!

Can anyone tell me how to remove pictures & albums (including sub-albums inside of albums)? The ones I would like to remove do not have the remove feature available. Thanks.
