Hi, I think I need to talk to someone who has gone through all the stops on the way to CCT. I am a junior with about a year and a half left, and I think I have decided that I want to go for combat control, yet I can't seem to get straight answers from my recruiter (ex. He insists that prospective CCTs still go to Indoc). I'll put what I have basically gathered about what I should do, and then hopefully you guys will tear it apart and correct me. I enlist, go through MEPS and all the entrance stuff and then to basic. Do I enlist as "Combat Controller" or something like security forces? After that, say I enlisted to be security forces and I'm done with basic and all that. Do I apply to go into the orientation and pipeline? If there is an application, what is the process and how long would it typically take? Would I leave the unit I was with to go begin training? I really hope that a CCT can respond to this and hopefully even email me with details. I posted on the USAF CCT association web site and they told me to ask the recruiters, and I emailed a CCT recruiter in Texas and got generally the same response. Could someone who has been through thia please enlighten me? Thanks!

The guys over at specialtactics.com don't play around (that is meant as a compliment). Be sure to read their warning order section before posting, or you will get your ass handed to you. That site is full of real deals, so do your research, be respectful and you should get your questions answered.
