Okay Men, I'm here to say that civilian life sucks!
Back in the Fall I was on my way to MEPS to sign up for SWCC as an HM. I'm a former army NCO (airborne infantry). Well, the recruiter screwed up and postponed my appointment. Meanwhile I get a call from a huge company offering me a job making more than twice what I'd make in the navy. 3 months later, I'm talking to the recruiter again.
So, when I last posted on this site there was talk about SWCC going from 9 to 20(?) weeks. What's the deal now? Any updates?
I'm hoping to blow this joint in less than 2 months. Any words of wisdom? Anyone prior service who went into the navy and could give a word or two of advice?
I'll be taking a pay cut down to E-4 but I think it'll be worth it. I've visited SBU 20 and talked a few times with their former SEA. But that was about 4-5 months ago. I've been sportin' a tie and dealing with bureaucrats for the last 3 months.
Thanks in advance!
