Hello all,

This may not be the place for it, but I just finished reading Starship Troopers. What a book! I would rank this book pretty high in motivating me to join up and drive on. Any of you prospective recruits out there who have not read it, go out and get it. You will sweat Motivation after reading it. And for all the old soldiers out there who already have, pick it up and read it again! Anybody else feel the same?

PS- The book even manages to stay socially relevant. Excerpt:

"'Law abiding people,' Dubois had told us,'hardly dared go into a public park at night. To do so was to risk attacks by wolf packs of children...to be hurt at least, robbed most certainly, injured for life probably- or even killed.'"

Starship Trooper was a good movie for 2 reasons.

1. It explained how different the infantry is from the rest of the military.

2.

Josepy,
you should have posted one of Dina Meyer!! At least the Grunts got a good rep from that movie, even if it did have damn-all to do with the book. I did not, however, like the WWII Nihon-style "Banzai" charges, which seemed about the limit of the Mobile Infantry! BTW, they were considering calling the new Army "Medium" Infantry Divisions, believe it or not, Mobile Infantry!

I am a big fan of Dina's too.

This is best I could do without spending way too much time on the search engine.

Enjoy
