Has anyone ever heard about any police training their SWAT teams or boat unit on how to board another boat? Like what if someone was packaging up some dope on a boat in the middle of a river or a bay that would be considered in that city, and not patrolled by the Coast Guard. Would the local cops know how to get board and but that dealer or save that hostage, or would something like that be handled by the Coast Guard even if it wasn't their usual area of work?

I saw some of my local police department's boats and got to wondering about that.

We recently did some boat assault training. Only hostage rescue stuff no narcotics interdiction. We would follow a boat w/ dope on it with our airship till it either stopped or the Coast Guard could take it I would imagine...

Try contacting Steven C. Bronson at Tactical Waterborne Operations. He does a lot of training for police SWAT teams.

His website's address is http://www.watreborne.com or 757-426-9526. He's going to want you to answear a few questions though.

I don't know if any of you are from around the tennessee area, but Chattanooga PD is hosting a 3 day TWO course starting May 20th. The cost is only $50. If you are interested, I have a flyer that was e-mailed to me and I will pass it along to anyone interested.

I think that was Mr. Bronson's group that put on a demo at TREXPO this year- that boat was TIGHT

I have not attended any of their training, but Factor Defense Services (www.factords.com) provides a "Maritime SRT" course. Be safe.

Steve soes alot of shows so I'm not sure if it was him or not, but I'll ask him. The boat Steve normally uses for training is a black RHIB.
