3 Color Desert Cam BDU QUESTION.

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help out.
I collect cammo uniforms and recently received a desert cammo BDU set.
Question 1:
On both arms is what looks like an airforce patch with a star in the middle and five stripes on the sides of the star.
Anyone know what rank that is?

Question 2:Above the left breast pocket is a big black velcro strip.
What type of patch is attached on that?

The rank is Technical Sgt (TSgt), an E-6 in the Air Force. The black velcro is where the owners name tag went.
