How does rank transfer between branches services. For example what rank would a lieutenant or captain from the army be if he were to join the Navy after his enlistment ended and visa versa? Or does it even transfer?

Gnat:
1. "branches services"? WTF? Cal Berkeley?
2. "visa versa"? Is that a song lyric about a credit card?
3. Officers do not enlist.
4. Not impressed. Go to the back of the line.

After hours of study I've learned that the rank structure is different then ours in the "Peoples Republic of Berkeley........"

If a Captain left the Army and joined the USMC, he'd be a PFC.
If an Air Force Colonel left the USAF and joined the USMC, he'd be a GS-3 Recreation Specialist at Morale, Welfare, and Recreation.
Thats how the ranks convert. I have a chart I can post later.

Tack:
I think I understand Nat's credentials. It's just so obvious by "branches service" that he prunes trees for a living.
1811:
At least that ex USAF Colonel turned USMC GS-3 MWR Specialist would have the same job description — though he'd have to caddy! http://www.specialoperations.com/ubboard/biggrin.gif

1811 ... thought you were e-mailing me first, but I'm assuming you're at the addy I posted above. E-mail is on its way.
GSpotKid, I feel it is of my honorable duty to quote a few lines from one of my favorite tutorials ... I suggest you follow the directions ...
1: Place both arms in an extended position behind your back, cup your hands together-
2- Place your cupped hands under the stick that extends from your rectum-
3- Grab/Clinch the stick. Tighten Hands. Turn Slowly in a counterclockwise motion-
4- Slowly pull out while continuing the CCW motion turn.
5- Once you have the stick, proceed to place it down your esophagus until it cannot be purged anymore.
Hope this helps.

Tack, I like the "Gnat" thing:
In response for the most BASIC of military understanding minds, try to keep up:
1. Rank WOULD transfer if, for various reasons, an officer of a particular service would happen to transfer services.
i.e. - if a 2LT in the Army would transfer over here to the AF (HA!) he would still be a 2LT (officially, but not according to some people). . . the rank structure is available online at ANY one of the MANY sites run by the Army, AF, Marines, Navy, and, dare I say, the CG. . .
2. If you are NOT going to research your questions before your post, DONT post. . . a simple lesson I learned LONG ago at the hands of very capable operators I have a TON of respect for after getting my ass chewed too.
Exactly.
