As many of you know, paying for college is not the cheap and I have been racking my brain to figure how to give my income a little boost. I have had a few people suggest modeling to me. (I will now hold for the laughing). Now, my concern is if I did get a job modeling would it come back to bite me in the ass. What I mean is by having my picture in print would that have an effect on my chances of getting into spec ops? I know take baby steps, take baby steps but I just want a little input on what you guys think on this matter. Any help would be appreciated.

YJ:

1. Having your picture in print will not disqualify from executing a Ranger enlistment as an Infantryman. (Military Occupation Specialty 11B). If you wish to serve in an elite unit (as a non-prior service enlistee) that is the best deal going. Doing so would allow you to serve with some of the best soldiers on the planet.

2. If your interest is solely in acquiring the maximum amount of tuition assistance funding then speak with an Army Recruiter.

3. As a non-prior service enlistee you will not be eligible to attend Special Forces Assessment and Selection.

4. As was stated previously in another thread, learn to soldier, earn a short tab and the rest will work itself out.

Modeling probably won't affect your future desire to serve in military special operations. A reservist buddy of mine that I met in the 18D course (SF medic, for those who don't know) whom I later discovered was a model. I was at his parents house and saw pictures of him modeling clothes at some show.

I always thought that one had to be fairly limp-wristed in order to properly sashay down the catwalk. http://www.specialoperations.com/ubboard/wink.gif

Dude, go for it if you can. Easy money, easy work, lots of hot chicks surrounding you.

Thanks for the input guys, I was wondering about it because I remember reading a thread a while back about disqualifiers for Spec Ops and one was scars. I would assume the reason for that is that someone could be identified by their scar or scars and thus be a security risk. Therefore I figured that having my picture in print would be a risk they would not want to take. Do your pervious statements still stand or is this concern of mine valid?

MMMMMMM the hot model chicks almost makes me want to rethink this whole…….. what forum is this again?????????
