Scout, thought I would let you know that the same rumor has been going around in this part of the country via e-mail and telephone along with people being told to tear up absentee ballots because they are not valid. It is my understanding that a Federal investigation is being launched immediately into this here in my area. I strongly suggest that you edit your post and any other posts of a similar nature you may have made anywhere else and cease and desist from posting that anywhere else on the net.

Sharky,
The post was humor, cut and pasted from a new letter I receive daily. Its not my own work, though it is funny. Sorry if it offended you.

Posted below are the results of a "Federal Investigation" on the infamous "Vote Wednesday" email/post:
1. A PERSON is smart, but PEOPLE are stupid.
2. Since the FBI has no sense of humor, we will all most likely all go to jail, especially those of you who only read that email/post.
3. If you have in fact read it, sell everything you have RIGHT NOW and move to a foreign, non-extradition treaty country because "they" are coming to get you...
4. Get real.

As I posted elsewhere ...
There is a Federal Investigation going on in California (where the ORIGINAL e-mail originated from) as well.
They aren't taking this one very lightly unfortunately.

I heard the same report twice on the radio this morning enroute to work. There was buzz here at work about it earlier this week and I think some may have taken this split-day voting thing seriously. This can be especially dangerous being that a high turn-out of "NEW" voters are expected at the polls this year.

Speaking of the elections, I figured you guys might want to know that the Communist Party USA has endorsed Al Gore. http://www.cpusa.org/PAarticles/Campaign%202000.htm

Two things:
Sharky's warning was valid,he's just watching your back. It's an election year so your not acting unless you're OVER_REACTING.
For Californians-
At a debate last week between incumbent US Senator Diane Feinstein and challenger Congressman Tom Campbell the Congressman asked Senator Feinstein about our SF troops in Columbia.
The good Senator(Demoncrat) said that she was "UNAWARE" of US military activity in Columbia.
Yup,that's our Senator.

Anyone who took the post/email about the spilt day voting serious should not be voting in the first place. They are too damn stupid to choose anything above the flavor of their ice cream.

Scout: I didn't take it personal but like the man said the FBI has zero sense of humor. I was not offended in any way. Sorry if it sounded that way. Just trying to help you avoid a potential problem.
JBrookins: The dumb people who believe this seem to be the elderly. They seem to be victimized a bit more easily than some of us with more streetsmarts. Go ahead and take that jungle boot out of your mouth.
Spectre, I'm being very real. The FBI is very real also. They are taking this quite seriously apparently. A lot of people are mad because there were so many elderly people who bought off into this. They are demanding action. So are some prominent politicians. See where this is going?

Sharky: No problem. I hadn't heard anything about the invesitgation. Wasn't sure if you post was sarcasm, sour grapes or legit till I read the other replies. The reasons for the FBI invesitgations make sense, even if the Feebs lack a sense of humor.

At a debate during a presidential election many years ago, a reporter said the following to the presidential hopefuls reply: "Mr. Stevenson, you have just won the vote of every intelligent man in America."
Adlai Stevenson's reply: "Yes, but you need a majority to win."

Scout your observation would appear to be true. LMAO
Jbrookins breakdown of the election and voters:
Potential voters:
53% of Americans Vote
47% don’t vote
Of those that vote:
40% Republican
40% Democrat
20% undecided
20% are undecided and that equates to 10% of the total voters (out of the 53% that vote) which in turn is only 5% of the total potential voters (That’s all of those that should vote).
Most of the time and money and spin is directed towards 5% of the potential voting population at the expense of irritating the hell out of the rest of us.

JB:
Hmmmm....not sure that I like what you seem to be implying. Just because someone is elderly and more subject to a scam artist is not necessarily a good reason to say that they are mentally incompetent. Not to mention the fact that some of those elderly people did more to earn the right to vote than you or I ever dreamed of. But you have a right to your opinion as do I. But those mentally incompetent WWII and Korea vets happen to be the ones who made sure you would have that right long after they were old and mentally incompetent.

Are you seriously saying that mentally incompetent people SHOULD be able to vote? Do You think we should encourage the uneducated, lazy, and mentally weak to make our most important decisions? Those that may not be able to balance their own checkbook?
Being elderly does not make a person incompetent. However decreased mental capabilities should (regardless of age).
But the original topic here was just a joke. Large scale scams are currently being produced everyday by the major parties (blatant lies). You might want to fight them.
Look, the political process right now is all about scamming those who are not capable of seeing the obvious and are easily swayed. To have an opinion or ideology is fine but to make excuses for the weak is insane. We can take care of them but I don’t want them making the decisions that affect me.
To pick a simple joke and blow it out of proportion is ridicules.
And frankly I don't care if you stormed Normandy, if you are not competent than you have no innate right to vote. Voting is about the future not the past.
Ever heard the saying "you can't live on past glories".

(GROAN) I think this is going right over your head. You stated above that anyone who believed this is mentally incompetent and should not be allowed to vote. I stated that there are a lot of old people out there who bought off into this that are not mentally incompetent. If someone actually IS mentally incompetent then I agree with you that they should not be allowed to vote. But your statement that anyone who fell for this scam is mentally incompetent is untrue and is based on nothing more than your opinion. As for the FBI, You tell them how best to spend their time and which laws they should enforce and which they should not. I am sure they will be happy to hear your opinion about how they should do their job. As for me, I am finished with the subject.
