Anyone have the book by Greg Walker, At the hurricane's eye: U.S. Special Forces from Vietnam to Desert Storm? I was wondering what is his real name, Walker or Short (sp?)?
Thanks.

Greg Walker is his real name.
Greg and I were classmates in Phase Training in 1977-78. Ahhh, the 'Whiskey' Detachment...

The "Greg Walker" who wrote "At the Hurricane's Eye" attended SFQC (Phase Training) in 1980.

OK, I'm confused. The book had a photo of the very same dude who was my APL during a rather amusing ambush in Phase One. In 1977.
I'm not quite ready to admit a senior moment... :D

Actually you both could be right in as much starting in 1977 Phase I and graduating in 1980 is not that rare with any recycles in his records.
Just my two cents. :D

Sorry - in '77 I was a long ways from Fort Bragg doing my time in the conventional army -
And no, first time/one time through SFQC...1980.
Which photo are you referring to in the book? That might help with the memory thing:) ?
