In my contract I have an SF Intent option. To better prepare myself my recruiter told me to ask actual SF members if you know of anyway I can obtain a SF workout manual. One of the recruiters had one but he just recently was re-assigned and I can't get ahold of him. If anyone knows a way that I may download or purchase a copy of this I would be in great debt to them. Thanks

What exactly is an 'SF Intent option'?
With regards to the second partr of your question, I don't know if it's what you mean or not, but there is a Word Document from SORC that has a pre-SFAS routine that is supposed to prepare you. I found it somewhere on the SORC website @ http://www.goarmy.com/job/branch/sorc/index.htm

I have never heard of SF being in a non-priors contract... http://www.specialoperations.com/ubboard/confused.gif
Dude you better go talk to your recruiter! http://www.specialoperations.com/ubboard/eek.gif
Are you sure it isn't Airborne / Ranger? Hell you have to be an NCO to be in SF... Yall you can go to SFAS as an E-4P but you'll be 5 fast... If this is true it is new to me...

Well, The NG has a pretty good deal. (Plug: Not ALL NG are pogues, some high speed muldoons out there http://www.specialoperations.com/ubboard/smile.gif) They will take a newbie, and send him to every single requirement: Basic, AIT, Airborne, PLDC..By the time he gets to SFAS he's E-4P/E5. Pretty sweet deal. Was with a guy that was doing it when I came back in. His orders were 10 pages long, and spanned 2 years or so(18D).

Isn't that the infamous "REP-63" program that was spoken about a couple months back?

He might be part of the program to strengthen the manning within the 18 Series career field. I believe they are letting people go to SFAS after Basic and AIT.

The NG is pushing rep-63's through now. There is a training team at Bragg now who take positive control over the O/T's from the Guard. That way these guys are doing pt, land nav, ect, while awaiting official training.
The active side is still contemplating SF babies (rep-63). They are, however, letting E-2's go to selection.

Jeff,
I think Jim might be at least partially right, though I don't know exactly. Up until recently, I'd always heard REP-63 referred to the program to send Guard recruits through OSUT, Airborne, PLSC, SFAS and SFQC. HOWEVER,
when we get new personnel in my unit (MID, 1/20th SFG(A)), our Det commander always asks if their rep-63, meaning going straight through basic, ait, airborne, DLI if required. I've been meaning to ask for clarification here, but I think REP-63 might mean something more a pipeline for CMF 18.

Scout,
Since your up in Madison, maybe you could slide me some info. Would you happen to know where the closest non-support detachment of the 20th SFG(A) is, in regards to Pensacola? I understand that the 'Bama Guard SF units are closer to me than the Florida units in Ocala. Thanks.

Scout,
REP-63 is not a program unique to CMF-18. It is an enlistment program to allow an individual to enlist in, and attend drills with a reserve (USAR or ARNG)unit before going to BCT/AIT. REP-63 enlistment can be used by any reserve unit that wants (needs) to enlist non-prior service individuals.

Isn't a REP-63 no different than someone in DEP? I was in a combat engineer company in the MO guard, and they called their personnel that hadn't gone to IET yet "Rep 63's."
Jim
Jim,
DEP and REP-63 are not alike in any way shape or form. With DEP the individual enlists with a delay and is put in the Inactive Reserve for the delay period. The individual is not paid for this period, but is credited with time in service. REP-63 enlistment is for Active Reserve Duty and the individual immediately becomes a paid member of the unit and must attend drills while waitng for orders to active duty for training.

Camwyn,
B Co, 1st BN is located in Mobile. That's probably the closest to you. I don't have a POC off hand, but I'll see if I can't find something for you.
OldSFer,
Thanks for the clarification.
