The book is called "See No Evil" by Robert Baer. This is a must read book. Baer was a CIA case officer for many years. The last few chapters about the Clinton Administration's ties to the big oil companies, known terrorists, the chinese and russian campaign contributions etc will make your blood boil. There's also some very good theories in there about who was behind the scenes supporting Bin Laden for the sept 11th attack. This guy was a warrior in the true sense of the word and has balls that clank. They refused to let him testify, so he just wrote a book instead.

I'm in the middle of it now. To up the ol' learning curve, I recommend reading it right before or right after 'Inside Delta Force' as there is some overlapping experiences in the two books. For instance, CSM Haney did not know the origin of the name of 'The Green Line', whereas Baer explains it. On the flip side, Baer can't figure out why Delta wouldn't attempt a rescue of some hostages without having eyes on for at least 24 hours, and in Haney's book you see that Delta was looking for ways to not get shafted by CIA.

I read Dewy Clarridge's (who is discussed frequently in See No Evil) autobiography back in 1996 and am thinking I need to re-read it. What I have learned about the guy since 1996 does not put him in a good light.

I finished the book today. What Baer presents in the book is VERY upsetting. I agree that the last section on the political crap will make one's blood boil, but the section that really fuckin pissed me off was the Iraqi experience, especially in light of all the talk nowadays.

We screwed ourselves once in the scrubbing of the Agency from the late 70s-90s, but we managed to double fuck ourselves by validating every misconception about American intelligence and thus make it exceedingly difficult for future recruitment and operations.

The following articles further discuss the themes raised by Baer:
http://www.theatlantic.com/issues/98feb/cia.htm
http://www.theatlantic.com/issues/2001/07/gerecht.htm

Couple all of this with what Aukai Collins writes in his book:

Add to all of that the fact that GEAR magazine has had the best reporting on terrorism (over the past year) I've ever seen and the content of those articles backs up many of the findings of Baer, the only conclusion one can come to is could very well be fuct.

You can thank Stansfield Turner and the Clinton Administration for creating a paper tiger. Wolfowitz was in Turkey assuring no plans for a Kurdish State. Wonder if the road of oil from Iraq into Turkey has anything to do with it. Have seen Baer twice since his book came out but has been quiet lately.

Sharky...thanks for the recommendation, this is a good book.

The next time one of the NWO freaks goes off about some vast CIA plot to control the world I have even more ammo to try and shut him up with....or I can just hit him in the head with the book.
