As of today the DET was informed that as of Novembers' class that team week would be back. The reason, we are told, is a change of commmand.

1) Please confirm.

2) Please provide the G-2 on what the heck we can expect from team week. I have heard the horror stories but would like to separate fact from fiction as much as usual.

PM is fine if the information is not appropriate to a public forum.

Best Regards,

-Chris-

Chris

I'm sure word will come out soon if Team Week is coming back or not.

I can't monitor what goes on via e-mail or PM. With that said please do not ask for information about Team Week and what to expect during it in Socnet. There's a reason why folks want to keep it on a low key. The idea is to get an accurate assessment of what a guy's going to do when he's stressed.

I applaud your foresight but can't allow this type of discussion on the site. I don't mean this as a flame and I hope you'll understand.

Do the best you can.

Gotcha! I was just interested in if it was coming back or not. For what it's worth, the Korea SF Recruiter hasn't heard a thing about it.

What the heck is Team Week? I don't want to know what goes on specifically. Just what it is. Do they take the ODA's out and run them through the ringer? Don't laugh too hard, I've never been in the military. If even the definition of Team Week is need to know only then please ignore me. Thanx.

Team week used to be a part of SFAS where students were broken down into small groups and given difficult tasks to accomplish in high stress conditions while rotating through the leadership positions.

This gave the students a chance to see how one another performed and made peer reports a valuable tool. It also gave evaluators an opportunity to see how well student leadership performed at problem solving and task delegation. Finally, it gave the evaluators an opportunity to observe student performance when they were NOT in leadership roles. This process tended to identify "spotlight rangers" and those who just generally didn't play well with others.

Given small numbers, the need for SF personel to function well as a team and with indigenous units is paramount, and Team Week served to evaluate candidates posessing the appropriate skill set for SF service.

Team week was taken out when the decision was made to teach land nav in SFAS, rather than Phase II of the SFQC.

There is ongoing discussion of adding Team Week or some portion thereof back into SFAS. A decision has not yet been made.

Hope this answered your questions.

From the SF guys ive talked to, Team week was the most hellish, and most fun week of SFAS. They werent too keen on the fact that it had been removed from the schedule either.

I dont care what anyone says, I went thru team week, I was one of the 52 "Frozen Chosen" from Jan 00. Team week needs to be back, SF is letting in some weak soldiers. Dont even get me started on the "SF Baby's", because that is all they are, babies. Team Week is a gut check, mabey then you wont have 194 out of 315 wash out of Phase 2 in one way or another.
