Bid time is running out on the Bronze Star blank Certificate (ebay item 543617184) and the Silver Star blank Certificate (ebay item 543614380). The Bronze Star Cert. was up to $9 and the Silver Star Cert., after 7 bids, is up to $21.50. Bidding closes in less than two days!
Recently, I bid on a MACV SOG patch on ebay and won. When I bid on the patch, I knew the patch was not authentic. I wanted it for display with my reproduction SOG knife.
I've noticed that several of the counterfeit patches for sale on ebay are poorly made. The counterfeiters are copying patches in reference books like Sutherland's "Speical Forces of the United States Army", and advertising them as "authentic in Country" made or "original Vietnam era". Don't be misled!
Also, people are putting patches on ebay that can be purchased from established insignia companies at lower prices.
I think H.J. Saunders US Military Insignia, Inc. is one of the best. Their on-line catalog is at www.SaundersInsignia.com (http://www.SaundersInsignia.com) .
