The caption for this photo says that EOD techs are being recovered, but I can't figure how they are getting up into the helo. Are they having to climb up a rope hand over hand? (Surely not, but I never can tell with y'all...)

That looks a hell of a lot like a caving ladder side-on SS wirerope with SS tube rungs.

That is correct, it's a lot of fun....at least the first couple of times, after about three hours, you get sick of it......
