I think Discovery Channel (based in Maryland) has cancelled their broadcast of Army Sniper Training in light of the recent trajedy of shootings in Maryland and the D.C. area. It's not on the listings for today and was supposed to be on Discovery Sunday 10pm October the 13th. Anyway regarding the killer on the loose in that area, I hope and pray that they catch this cold-blooded murderer soon before others are harmed.

Personally I hope they don't catch him, I hope they are faced with a situation in which they must kill him and they do. I am willing to bet that he will get the death sentence if he gets convicted, and 15 years from now (as we pay for his ass in jail) he will get a nice quiet death. And during those 15 years he will spread whatever hate message he has to the minor criminals and that will create more evil people (I might be going on a limb with that one). Anyways, he is playing sniper, and when a sniper is caught in the real world (read that as "on the battlefield") his name is listed as KIA, not captured and treated with tea and biscuits.

Thats my opinion, although it isn't politically correct.

SG,

I agree and I hope he gets what he deserves also. You know someone in the penal system told me once that with death sentence appeals, etc., it costs me to try to execute someone than to put them away for life!

My response to that was why are we even supporting these people in the first place? My idea is to banish people. Sounds kind of unusual, but why not have islands way out in the ocean and drop 'em off and let them fend for themselves? You could have barbed wire and guards off shore, small overhead and upkeep.

I guess the liberal dems-dems would have a fit and call that "cruel and unusual punishment". To liberals "cruel and unusual punishment" means no cable tv or weights.

As far as this so called sniper goes, I'm not really phased about what happens to him, just as long as someone ends it, one way or the other. As for sending them to an Island by themselves...............its been done, the Penal colonies of the British an French were considered incredibly brutal from my understanding (not that I'm an expert on the topic) Hollywood also depicted its own thoughts on the Idea in 'Escape from Absolom'. Didn't think much of the movie itself, but its still an interesting idea. The victims and their families will be in my thoughts.

That movie is known as "No Escape" over here in the USofA, just FYI.

As for the concept, well, how could it be cruel and unusual unless the prisoners themselves made it cruel and unusual? Boy, that'd put the ACLU into a mess. Do you say the government was to blame? Or do you charge the prisoners with crimes against humanity or whatever the case may be? And if you do, where do you send them? Back to the island?

Hell, I think we should do it just to see the big wigs at the ACLU get all bent out of shape and then have their heads explode when the realize the big ol' Catch 22 their in.

LMAO, That was funny as hell........................social experiment number 1, I wonder who the first test subjects could be. Did anyone say Guantanamo Bay? I'd like to see the outcome of that one. Not real likely of course, Oh well I guess I'll have to keep dreaming. Oh and thanks for the heads up on 'No escape' ebbertt.
