Nope, those wool caps are still here, and worn by Special Forces. They have been attacked by moths at times but far from extinct, most are well made in the USA and survive. As far as those that wear the wool hat, Special Forces, they are still very active and and have the highest Ops Tempo of any US military forces.

As long as it's an issue M4A1, SAW, M24, M9 and such http://www.socnetcentral.com/ubboard/biggrin.gif No TEC9's, MAC 10's, HiPoint's, Glocks and such http://www.socnetcentral.com/ubboard/biggrin.gif

Oh, yeah, and a very select few are well articulated and they can state everything they want to say the first time around without editing their post 3 times...LOL!! http://www.socnetcentral.com/ubboard/smile.gif

Sorry, Jimbo. If a day goes by that I don't bust your balls at least once, I feel left out...and you dig on me so much, it is kind of justifying...

T9B, man, I hope to GAWD you are not naive enough to carry one of those POS Tec 9s. Please tell me you're smarter than that.

See, that's why SF doesn't carry them. How they look isn't as important as how they shoot (most of the time). Back in the Slick-Willie Era it was how cheap they were that mattered. http://www.socnetcentral.com/ubboard/wink.gif

I see them shot all the time at my range and the bastards are constantly jamming, even throwing bolts! Glad if you've found one that works, but I wouldn't trust my life with it.

More power to you! (uggh uggh - Tim Taylor)

Hmm.... Why won't you use the Swedish K submachinegun instead of the mp5? I've heard multiple accounts saying that it works better but that the mp5 looks better, hence the reason it got picked. True?

The Swedish Carl Gustav M45 and M45B are heavy compared to the MP5 series, not that accurate and the MP5 series accepts many times the accessories provided for the "Swedish K".

You have a real funny way of introducing yourself to THIS forum...

When I was in college one guy in my dorm had a TEC-9, another guy had a .357 S&W, and the guy directly accoss the hall from me had both an AK-47 and SKS hidden in his room. I wouldn't have believed it except they showed it to me themselves. I guess they figured they could show it to me since I enjoyed shooting. Or at least attempting to shoot (everyone on here is likely far out of my league). The TEC-9 guy acted kind of like he fancied himself a hard street guy, but the other two were basically just avid shooters who didn't want the hassle of keeping the guns in the police station and checking them out whenever they wanted to go out shooting. The guy with the AK and SKS was also an avid guitar player and he used to smuggle them in guitar cases.

I found that unusual for a college campus to have such armed students, I think we were probably the most heavily armed dorm on campus, and we were coed!

*note: for the high schoolers on here, I don't advocate taking any form of weaponry into schools, please don't take this as behavior to emulate.*

Hmmmm - Now we are useless, oh well glad I retired back when we were not. Have to tell the gys I work with at SOTIC about this one.

On the Swedish K question, carried one in SEA ONCE! The sucker is heavy and is a pain. It fires from the open bolt and has a tendency to be a dirt collector. Also can fire when dropped just right. NEVER use the suppressor as a main gun. If the enemy does not know they are being shot at, they just keep on coming. :-(
