Gentlemen,

My unit will be conducting some waterborne operations training, i.e. zodiac, no combat swimming http://www.specialoperations.com/ubboard/frown.gif , of a very brief duration. It will be more of a familiarization than anything else. However, we lack personnel with any serious experience in this area.

Can anyone recommend sources for tactically sound doctrine in this area? Are there any training circulars or lesson plans on-line?

I forget the FM # but the Army Special Forces have a pretty decent waterborne ops field manual. It covers all the basics of OTB,hydro-recon, and surf passage. I'm sure if you sniffed around on the net you'd come across it. They also have some pretty good air ops manuals that cover ducks/double ducks and Z-birds.
