May be difficult to confirm, but worth a try. Bill Davison, who runs a teaching gig/range in Texas near Ft. Worth. Also posted to UK SF forum, but cross-posted here since checks appear more common. Website bio at http://www.tacproshootingcenter.com/about_1.html

Bill Davison served in the Royal Marines and later in the Special Boat Service. I have seen numerous group pictures, commendations, citations, and certifications on the walls of his house verifying this.
Additionally, Bill is an excellent instructor and a good friend.

Bill and I have been friends for about 4 years and as far as have found that he knows what he is talking about when it comes to pretty much anything having to do with spec ops or shooting. I don't have the kind of access to do a serios check on his background, but I don't need to. In our community a fake sticks out like a sore thumb. I personally have worked with a couple of his SBS buddies in the past. If you need furthur clarification email me or just give Bill a visit while he is teaching one of his classes.

I've been out to Tac Pro a few times and Davison seems alright to me. I'd like to think he's the real deal b/c if so it would add a great deal to the value of his training (and the credibility of his methods when he says "Here's the reason I do this" or not).

Didn't admin (DFC I believe) confirm that Davison was attached to SBS? Although not as a 'badged' operator, he did serve on the squadrons.

Hope it helps.

Publius-

If you attended the Snipers Paradise Match at T.P.S.C. this
year, Marty was the competior with the USN issue gear and Knight's Mk. 11 rifle.

DCH that's an interesting distinction. What does it mean exactly? Is it like being in 75th Ranger Regt. w/o the Tab? (Or is it different? Is what he says on the tacpro website accurate?

If this guy didnt pass selection he is not SBS nor SAS and could only have fulfilled a support or admin role and cant even remotely be considered an operator.

I don't have a dog in this hunt, but his bio does leave a little wiggle room even though it implies he was British Special Forces.

He says he ``finished his service as an instructor for the British Special Forces.''

Seems that there could be a case where he was an instructor while not actually being part of SAS or SBS.

All you guys that know him: does he claim to be SBS and have passed selection?
