Got a question for my EOD brothers: I'm considering buying a SOG EOD Powerlock for duty carry (I'm USAF CCT). It has a blasting cap crimper and all the tools necessary for other work. Has anyone used this tool? What types of multi-purpose tools ie Leatherman, do you professionals use?

I like the basics. M9 bayonet or K-bar, Leatherman, Standard crimpers. Despite having two blades already in that setup, many like to carry the "cool guy" lockblade knife in their pocket. Many like Spiderco, I prefer the three inch blade by Colombia River Knife and Tool usually listed as "CRKT." This company makes good stuff, owned by founder of Gerber.
I am not familiar with the Powerlock. If you want it for demo work, check to see if one of the handles or if there is a fitting on it shaped to makes holes in PE for blasting caps.
I'll see if I can find the Powerlock online.

Thanks, I currently have a Leatherman. It works fine most of the time, I'm just trying to cut down on the number of things that I carry in theater. I guess you could use the pliers end for PE hole making. I've seen the CRKT line and they look like some awesome knives. The folder I've got right now is the SOG X-Ray Vision (Tanto), which works great.

I'm an Army EOD tech and I use a Gerber EOD tool. It has a decent set of crimpers and a C4 punch. I don't think the SOG tool has the punch.
