Hey everybody,
I'm a freshmen at Eastern Illinois University, I'm in the Army ROTC but I'm looking for something more. Seriously considering joining the national guard, and was wondering how I would go about getting a special forces slot and when I would squeeze in training. Also, are there any other high speed units in the Illinois NG, and any tips before I go talk to the recruiter?
Thanks,
Phil
(I've been up since three, so if this seems like it was written by a ten year old, thats why)

Where in IL are you located... N, S, E, W, NW, SW, NE, NW..?

I'm located in Charleston, which is kinda mid-east illinois. However, I wouldn't mind a drive if I was heading for a high speed unit.
Thanks,
Phil

Stay where you are, finish what you're doing.

You can go enlisted after completing ROTC and do all the high-speed stuff you want.

I can only do two years of ROTC before I have to contract to become an officer. Either I serve while I'm in college in the guard, or I go AD in two years.

so finish college and become an SF Officer.

Not intrested in the Special Forces officer track, I would like to serve while getting my education.
