I have been doing a great deal of research on the French Foriegn Legion, and I just wanted to say thanks to all you fellas that helped me out. During the coarse of my research I came upon a disturbing trend umong French officers trapped in bad situations. It seems that they have a tendency to take their own lives at critical moments in battle. I would cite the battle at Dien Bien Phu in the 1950s in French Indochina, as well as all along the Maginoit Line during the German blitzkreig. Do you belive that this is a result of some weird cultural thing among the french, or is it just poor leadership amongst there officer corps? How do French officers in line units stack up to their American counterparts, and try not to be biased if possible.

Secondly, I have been hearing about the distruction of 80% of the selected military targets in Afganistan. In light of the fact that the JIB overinflated actual kills in the Gulf War, what do you think is a more acuarate percentage?

Thanx!
