This book is the first book in a trilogy by author Rick Atkinson, who is known to some of you by his book (great book) on Desert Storm. It covers the U.S.Army's campain in North Africa and it's baptism of fire. Atkinson is a top drawer writer who's pros make the book a pleasure and a treasure. The book is filled with colorful charictors like Patton and Eisenhower and Montgomery and is detailed. One of the best reserched books I've ever read.
This book also gives a great picture of the 1st Ranger Battallion's actions in this part of the world.
