Very dumb and basic question

Ok, I need to know how many men in a platoon, how many men in the next smallest increment, etc. I know I should be able to find it, but I can't. I've used every darn search engine I can find, and still can't get the info. Sorry for the dumb question, please pity me. :-)

From what I could tell from what I've found in researching the subject (since I'm pre-SEAL like yourself) is that platoons are supposed to be 16 men able to divide into two groups of 8. But I think they'll send guys out in simple pairs for some things. I've also heard that due to the problems they have in keeping Teams fully staffed that they often have to go with platoons that aren't full size.

Any actual SEAL who comes on here who knows this better than I do feel free to correct me.
