For all you "Old Timers". I talked to Squirrels Wife last night and found out that she's had to put him into a nursing home in Southern Pines, NC. He's apparantly had several strokes and as she isn't in very good health, she isn't able to take care of him. He's home on weekends only. Mrs. Sprouse says that he remembers stuff from way back but 20 minutes after talking to someone, he won't remember that they were there to see him. Damn shame what we have to go through when we get old. If you want his phone number give me a back channel and I'll pass it on.

Getting old is shitty! But, the alternative isn't good either!

I hope Roy was a member of the Special Forces Association. National or the local Chapter probably is supporting him and his wife. "We never abandon our own"!

I think Squirrel was a charter member of the original Decade Club. At any rate, I'm sure Mrs. Sprouse and Roy have the support of all the old timers in the area.

I can remember when Squirrel accidently routed his leg straps under the crotch strap on a Rough Terrain Suit at MacKall. On open opening shock, the harness jerked up and popped Squirrel down into the suit, he had to unzip the chest to look out ... LOL

One hell of a good instructor, good in the woods.
