Okay, I'm not a operator but a Veteran that did my time in the Army as a leg (2 yrs), Airborne Infantry (2.5yrs) and then aviation(2 yrs) (don't ever opt for the latter).
Today I saw something that really irked me. Foxnews had supposively a report of 2nd force recon. Well, it turned out to be SF, it was so bad that they had a Major the was probably Pysops and said he was a Gunny, then they had a Retired SF Cpt, and said he was with 2nd Force Recon. I'm curious is the news media that stupid or what. If you see a guy with the SF Tab, Ranger Tab, SF Patch, SF or 82nd Combat Patch and on top of that is says US Army above the left pocket, and what part do they not understand. That irks,just like it irked me to see the guys dragged on the streets of Somalia.

BTW, I did email them telling them how stupid the where for getting to two branches mistaken and the next time contact a PA offices before displaying such erroneous information..

Rat, I have nothing against any service but if they are going to show the world our best, they should at least get it right..

I am appalled by the inaccuracies by his report. First of all, the US Army Special Forces are not 2nd Force Recon. They are a US Army unit, not US Marines. Second the Gunnery Sgt, was actually a Major in the US Army, probably part of Special Forces Group stationed at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. Also, the Retired Captain, was not 2nd Force Recon, he was a Special Forces Captain.

I ask that when reporting on Military Units, you provide accurate information and if not clear contact the appropriate Press liaison for correct information..

Foxnews on Shepherd Smith's show stated that they ran the wrong video with the wrong digital clips and at the wrong times. They apologized and played the Force Recon one instead. Lil' quick to the eight ball there.
