I recently have become interested in the PJ's. Unfortunately for me I broke my leg around the same time. It was reconstructed using some screws and metal plates. I have heard the military gives waivers for injuries and other medical problems. Will they waive something this servere and if so would that waiver extent to such hazardous and demanding duty as the PJs, or would my duty be restricted to a more laid back admin type duty? Oh yes I am developing full range of motion and full strenght in that leg. Thanks for any help/advice you all can give me. -Kalifan

K,
One of my best friends is an AFROTC cadet at University of Missouri-Rolla. He broke his leg when he was hit by a car as a freshman, and after getting pins and rods in to rebuild it, months of rehab and PT to condition himself again, he managed to get into jump school and has been given a pilot slot upon his graduation. Bottom line; if you bust your ass to get better and in top form, they wont keep you from getting that beret... Good luck and keep working. . .

You may have to get the screws & plates removed first. I new a guy that had a rod in his leg & the Air Force made him get it removed before he could go to basic. If you want I can post a # you can call to get more info on the PR/CCT teams from the guys who actually wear the beret.
