View Full Version : Blisters and insoles

Did the EIB roadmarch today and wound up with 2 large blisters, one on the ball of each foot that contributed to me not making it in time. Finished the roadmarch but with a time so horrid it's a disgrace. My PSG asked me about it and thought that it might have to do with the insoles in my boots. I consistently get these blisters on roadmarches since switching to wearing jungle boots
( I hate leg boots btw, and would like to think of them as a non option ). I don't mind the little ones that pop up on the tops of certain toes, etc., but these are in a critical spot for walking/running/etc. I've tried one pair of socks ( Thor-lo's ), wool socks with polypro liners, and both of those while using spray on anti-perspirant. These are still the only spots I really get blisters in to the point that they're a nuisance. Anyone got any thoughts on preventing these blisters and if it's the insoles got any thoughts on some good ones?

Thanks in advance,
Mac

Mac, try Superfeet inserts. They are heat molded to your feet and can be changed from boot to boot...will also work in running shoes, etc... They run form $35 - $75. However, they are worth the investment.

Smart wool would be my choice for socks and maybe some pre-taping in your normal "hot-spots."

Lastly, it may sound weird, but you may want to try a good water proof lubricant like Hydropel. It really works at preventing the "hot-spots."
