I check out the boards when I get a chance, and don't write unless I feel I have something solid to offer, but I just wanted to say that I've finally arrived in Coronado and start pre-SWCC in about 18 days, only after my completion of SERE school.
So far I believe I've made all the right choices and things are going well. Being a Corpsman in on the ground floor has been interesting. Some of the FMSS instructors were a great benefit to me in info and motivation. If anyone knows HM1 Fletcher or Chief Zarrinelli (?) two hard charging recon corpsman, they are great guys and totally locked in on the latest trauma care. HM1 Fletcher is a PT machine, by the way. I've already been by the SWCC school house and the caliber of instuctors is no joke.
Being a former Marine has helped with my acclimatization to some of the individuals. I gotta say though I hate North Island, the people here as opposed to the Amphib. base are a different breed and it shows. I have one phrase that says it all "Iron your uniform and get a fucking haircut!"
Well I've blathered on for as long as I can stand if anyone has any intelligent questions on the route of a Boat Doc let me know, I'll answer to the best of my ability.
Semper Fi and HooYa!
