I have recently received some correspondence from someone stating to be in Cuba...

He has sent me some photographs of weapons which I have yet seen in the Western Sources.

Can anyone confirm or ID these pics?

Described As The:

...'Alejandro'. It is a 7.62x54 mod 1943 (the same as the Russian SVD) it weight as much as this too (I guess even a little more than 4.3kg); the frame is made of wood...

Described As The:

...'Mambi'... uses the heavy 14.5mm Russian ammo, the same used in the AA MG on MBTs... it would be used against choppers, soft skinned vehicles...

A number of these pics would seem to be from local newspapers and the like but interesting still...

I have no clue - but the word you wanted to use here was "materiel," not "material."

Sorry, just a major pet peeve of mine.

Tuuka,

those do appear to be the same weapons as on the link... had not seen that page before. It's always nice to be able to get secondary confirmation of anything new or previously unknown.

Thanks to everyone for responding,

More like Denver...

Up until about a year ago it was strictly Longmont... but things change (as always).
