I have a question....We took down the US Flag at my work to replace it with a new one. Is there a proper way to dispose of the old one?

Strip it, IE: Red, Blue, White, and then burn it seperate, upon which place the ashes together in a container.

Or check the web and find a place to send it to be officially "decomissioned". I know some are out there but cannot recall the location.

Your local Boy Scout troop should know how to dispose of it properly, and if not, this is a perfect learning opportunity..

I find may good NCOs and officers have been Boy/Girl Scouts whjen they were young, and the leadership practiced then helped out alot in the military. Plus you learn those little things like the flag ceremony that 90% of the American people dont even know anymore. Anyone agree?

The protestor who burned the flag down in Puerto Rico (and receiving a taxpayers-funed pension since he was a Navy veteran) should be lectured.

congrats whammer, i think that getting an eagle scout is one of the rarest achievements in the country today.. i mean you have to work at it for so long.. as a kid when all your other friends are playing gi joe & transformers, it can be tough to stay focused. i was a boyscout.. didnt get it & know 2 people that have it (3 if i include you).

I still get shit for it all the time from those that were "too cool"...

Best outlet for a rambunctious 12-year old I can think of.
