Sapper Leader

Gentlemen,

Thought this inquiry was most appropriate here... I Was hoping some of you had some info on the Sapper Leader course. Good/Bad training involved? Good/Bad experience overall? Was going about looking into slots for my NG unit.

The VA ARNG used to run a Sapper Leader Course On A.P. Hill. They still may run it out of the Regional Training Institute (RTI) on Ft. Pickett.

Is this course sanctioned by or given by cadre from SLC? How does it compare to the course operated at Fort Leonard Wood?

Belvoir was the Corps of Engineers HQ and Engineer Training Center until 1988, I believe, when it was moved to FLW. If the course was that many years ago, it may have been because of A.P. Hill being in close proximity to the Corps of Engineers HQ.
