Hes talking about the E (5th RTB?). I read in some outdated book that they train DEA agents in drug raids.

Why? Selling info to the drug cartels? BTW, DEA is now very protective of their agents, especially if they are overseas in embassies. Seem strangers are taking pictures of agents for future recognition.

E Co was a part of 4th RTB in the late 80's to early 90's and was known as Light Leaders. They ran a mini Ranger Course for the DEA when Snowcap was going. Tack, it was funny, just laugh and move on http://www.specialoperations.com/ubboard/smile.gif

DEA is not a RANGER, SEAL, SF or RECON type operation, though they get thrown into the mix as if they were. A couple of weeks of training does not make a commando.
They are VERY aware of keeping a low profile. Yes, the drug operatives are collecting intel on our operatives.

Yup, E Co worked in the RTB back when I was doing suck school in 92-93. In fact, 1SG Sump (creator of the infamous Sump Device) was working in that company at the time. Sump was also a tac NCO at USMA in the Department of Military Instruction while I was there (right before moving to RTB). Anyone want to trade good Sump stories?

I remember seeing them when I went thru Darby phase. They wore black BDU's. There seemed to be a lot of fat dudes and chicks. Not exactly the type of people that I would want have backing my play when I'm kicking down doors.

They were still there running around in their black BDU's in summer '94.

I still get a big grin from that, Poly. One of the funniest on-line memories I have.....

I wrote the DEA a while back and they said that they were with there Special operations unit the MEB. But all they do is help law enforcements around the U.S. But they said they do send 6 to 12 men to Fort Bragg and train them in drug interdiction ops. And they do have a fake lab there where they are trained. They also said that they train in what ever they want. Usually military BDUS and t-shirts. But thats all they said.
