Can anyone tell me when the battle of Saipan occured exactly, and wether the incident took place during the korean war or nearing the end of WW2. I'm sorry, I'm kind of lost in a cluster of information. I thought I'd ask someone here. Meanwhile, I'll continue to look for an article on it.Thank you.:)

Did they have colour tv back then?? I saw colour footage of the villagers jumping off of cliffs, killing themselves.

You have the right as a product of an obviously disfunctional education system to sue the local, state, and federal governments for what they have done to you. I am convinced in the short (2 posts) that I have known you that in no way could your lack of history knowledge, inadequate attention to detail when the program was actually aired, or your inability to use internet search functions such as Google (or even the local library) be a fault of yourself. This is a classic example of where society has failed to live up to obligations to its citizenry.

I am sure you will find a lawyer more than willing to defend you for this injustice you have been dealt.

South of the Border,

You are so right, but I have become used to and somewhat numb to the lack of history knowledge in our great country.

Before I retired from the police dept., I taught part-time in the academy. I taught Consttutional Law. This was repeat stuff to the older crowd such as the retired military folks, but all new ground to the younger bunch. They never heard of things like the Bill of Rights or the Atricles of Confederation.

I can still remember how I was stunned when my little all A and B daughter looked at me and asked, Daddy which is a bigger state, Alaska or Africa? Auggggggggg!

My wife rolls her eyes when she hears this, but my dream is to be able to eventually be a 3rd or 4th grade history teacher. I guess if I were to work with kids any older I might be inclined to use firearms to get things like attention, quiet, and dutiful execution of homework.

My daughter is just now finishing kindergarten, but since it is in both English and Spanish (50/50) I am always worried that she is really grasping what is being thrown at her. If not, at least if she has to flip burgers in McDonalds she'll be able to ask you if you want pickles in 2 languages....

Hey, I am aware of my inferiority in mental capacity in comparison to everyone here, being only 15, having a speech impedement that shows in my typing aswell, not being very smart anyway, I often make posts that appear that i dont take advantage of basic information sources ie. the library , books...etc. , but i do. I was just asking since i happen to be online..and alone...and making the post would be fairly quick..why not. But i failed to realise the irony of it in the end.Wow..I'm incredibly slow..but thankfully,I had a recieved a clarification on whom to blame.

You're right South, our education system is very imperfect, it fails to teach us these things that i realise , while posting here, and attracting very negative responses,I should've already known. Atleast my CANADIAN history class doesn't focus on much anything beyond the causes, Canadian contribution and geographical changes of Post-WW2.Or whatever im used to making no sense now. After all, I can blame it on this dysfunctional education system's failure to provide me with proper grammar education and maybe, They are also to blame for the fact that i had to read your response about 4 times to understand its meaning. And maybe The system fails to build strong listening skills in the children, needed to prove to me that the footage aired on the program was genuine footage from 1944!!

As you can see, apart from a lack in average-speed information processing which seems uncurable at this point, I have a lot to learn and alot of personal learning skills to work on! I have already learned a few life lessons..i have a feeling i will learn many more here!

Thankfully, i wont have to feel half as guilty for my stupidity after reading your post. Thanks South!!

Your right son. It's not your fault at all. It has building to epidemic proportions for over 25 years.

Nobody or no public school system really teaches social sciences anymore. Well, sometimes some liberal revisionist crap.

Being a history nut and major, my patience can be worn thin about this.

I hope you got the info on Saipan you wanted. If I can ever help you on any project like that let me know.

Use your search function though. You will learn more and find more related subjects for your research.
Good luck

Nope. I don't think you got the true meaning of my reply at all.

Run -- don't walk, to that lawyer.

No- Sir, I got the message, unless we're speaking two different languages here.

I thank you for your suggestions but i dont feel in anyway, pressured to take any legal action against the crimes of this shaping educational system! After all, I have my whole life ahead of me to take back the knowledge that is rightfully mine!!

Or is it --too late???

Once again and hopefully lastly, i greatly appreciate your concerns for my generation!!!

Okay bye.
