View Full Version : eggy-copters
What were the medi-copters used in M*A*S*H (or the Korean war but i had only seen them in the flick) , called? Do these certain eggshaped utility helicopters have a type name? Because I know that the OH-6 only came around the early 60s..but that egg copter in M*A*S*H looked like a great great grandfather of the Little bird..
I think i ask too many questions

Not that I think your questions are misguided, but maybe some more outside searching may help. It took about 20 seconds on google.com using "helicopter on MASH" to get that it was a Bell H13.
Not a flame, but given the present situation on this board, you may want to take a little more time before firing off easily answered questions.

A/K/A the Bell 47 in the civilian world.
If you go to Airventure in Oshkosh in July you can get a ride in one. They flew over my tent all day long and I kept waiting for someone to cue up the MASH theme.

One of the coolest helos ever, IMO.
Dunno what it was like to fly though.
RNZAF is (finally) getting rid of theirs soonish.

No speed, no power, but it would glide forever on an autorotation:

Thats always nice to have :)
Sometimes arbitrary questions yield things that will never come up on a google search.
