View Full Version : Egan Inoue and Grappling Unlimited train Navy SEALs

Thought this was pretty cool. Egan and Enson are HUGE supporters of the military, especially Enson. He tried to enlist after September 11th but was told that all of his tattoos disqualified him. He still offers free seminars to the Armed Forces... two very cool guys.

While I will agree that Enson is an excellent fighter Ive never heard of someone being not eligible for service for having Tattoos.I guess it might depend on what they say or mean, just a guess. With all the money he can make from seminars and what not its pretty cool that he still gives free classes to the servicemen.

Who is who. Egan and Enson that is. I imagine left to right, but want to be sure. Thanks in advance.

Enson isn't in that picture, that's Egan in the white shirt next to "One". Guess I should've mentioned that Enson isn't in that picture, but I figured the guys who'd read this thread would already be familiar with the two brothers. Sorry about that.
SGTROCK - What I've heard is that you can have tattoos that aren't covered by your Class A's - that seems to be the consensus on this board - and Enson has tons of tattoos - everywhere. On his neck, head, and hands.
You can see all of his tattoos here (http://www.yamatodamashiiichizoku.com/tattoos.asp) .

Had a bonehead on K-Bay get thrown out for getting an "SS" tattoo on his neck...
Tattoos on the head are grounds for refusal for enlistment.

Does Egan still fight?
I know Enson does in Pride, but seriously he needs to drop down a weight class if he wants to be competitive.
Egan still fights, Enson does not. Egan just lost his Superbrawl title to Masonori Suda, the SHOOTO heavyweight champion, in a title unification match. Suda knocked him out 27 seconds into R1, though it's a bit controversial as in SHOOTO they have a standing 8 count, yet this didn't happen in that bout. Who knows.
Enson signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling a few months ago and wrestles there, but he still trains fighters at hid Purebred gym in Omiya, Japan. He wants to use his time in NJPW as a stepping stone back to MMA, he says.
That is funny I could have swore I saw Egans retirement fight last year.

When I went to the fight that is what he said, I am not questioning what you said.
Fighters tend to unretire themselves.
I know, I was just giving you the link in case you wanted to read more about it.
Is it just me, or does the guy on the left, and the guy 2nd from the left in the tan shirt look like Potter and Carr from the Discovery special on BUD/S class 234?

Enson was not disqualified from enlisting due to his tatoos. Its not a debate so dont even bother.
Not to dime anyone out but tht pick has a BTDT who posts here. dont bother trying to identify him, you either know him or not.
Egan does a good job with those guys.
