ATTN: Pararescue, Combat Control personnel, SERE Instructors

Hello,

I am C/2d Lt Truong, and I am a member of the Civil Air Patrol. I was selected to attend a week long course this summer that introduces Civil Air Patrol cadets to Pararescue training. the course is called PJOC, Pararescue Jumper Orientation Course. This course is held at Kirtland AFB, NM and the instructors are composed of active duty and reserve PJ's, CCT personnel, and SERE instructors.

I have just recieved information from the Civil Air Patrol National Headquarters may be forced to cancel this activity due to the current situation in Iraq. The instructors of this course are volunteers, and many of these volunteers have been deployed in response to recent events. This is an outstanding program, the training is intense, and it would be very unfortunate to be forced to have to miss this opputunity.

If any of you are interested, or know someone who may be interested in volunteering for this activity, your help would be greatly appreciated.

For more information, contact Rob Smith at rsmith@capnhq.gov

I wish you luck in your endeavor Lt. Truong as I have heard nothing but good things about that course. If it is side-tracked, I hope the end of the war will see it returned again in short order.

Just to update anyone in the PJ/CCT/SERE community that might care, PJOC was cancelled this year due to shortage of active duty instructors. National HQ did their best to find willing individuals, but with so many still in the sand box it didn't work out this year. God willing the program will restart next year and continue to provide excellent training to cadets. Just want to say thanx to anyone in those three communities that have helped with the program, it is invaluable tool that introduces cadets to your jobs, and many who go through the program enlsit and follow in your footsteps. Thank you for your time.
