Currently I hold the primary MOS of 13B, artillery. I want to go active duty and go to Ranger school. I've been told I can easily go to 13F school, or medic with a Ranger option. Is this true? I don't want to be typewriter specialist. I want to go Ranger!!
Any details on training would be nice. Ruck loads, distance/time etc.

Just an added bonus Riley...
As a FISTer myself I don't think you would regret the decision to go 13F. You get a chance at lots-o-schools and normally your supporting element treats you really well. Sometimes better than their own troops. You get to participate in a lot of high speed training but it can be a dangerous job. You are required to sit really close to the action...sometimes too close!

Question for you Rude somewhat off topic,
Have you known of any Fisters every going to Sapper school? I wanted to verify some info I heard. As a 13F, would you think it feasible? Just exploring options through the NG.
thanks

Whammer I might be way off but I thought that only 11 & 18 CMF were admitted to that school. It would'nt be the first time I was wrong according to my wife. http://www.specialoperations.com/ubboard/rolleyes.gif

Just some tidbits I heard...
I got back from a school and there were some instructors from Sapper in attendance as well. I got to talking with one of them at length about prerequisites and all. Its primarily for light engineers, but 11Bs go all the time (I confirmed this with an email to their schoolhouse. I was all over that website they have up). I am trying to swing slots for our recon plt. I asked him about 13Fs as well and he seemed to think it shouldn't be a problem. You just need the MOS waiver.
Funny, there was an 18C who overheard and was interested, but he seemed to think it might be tougher for him to go as either his command or the schoolhouse might think it redundant to send him.
Regardless, I hear there is a lot of good knowledge put out in the course...
