View Full Version : Tony Willis
A Pararescue legend, Tony Willis has died this week due to complications from cancer. Here is a famous photo of him in Vietnam (pre-Son Tay?) wearing his lucky ladies panty. RIP.

Rest in Peace:
Yes, he was. Another retired PJ, with the same last name (but not related), John "Chilly" Willis also died this week. I have not posted this because there is still some unknown circumstances involving his death. I was stationed with John at McClellan back in 83. Me, him, the current AFSOC PJ Chief and one other worked for Scotty Fales (of Somalia fame), in the Tactics branch back then. Here is an even older photo of Tony Willis, back in the days when PJs wore the glider and chute patch on a garrison cap.
50+1? Shit, in my day it was 60+1. Fucking Hooyah anyway.

Got this in the e-mail if any of you have any info:
---------------------------------------------
Hi,
I just learned of the passing of Lorenzo (Tony) Willis, a Vietnam era PJ from Wayne Fisk. We featured an article on him in the JSOM in the Spring of 2002 written by Jim DeVoss. The article is titled "Thanks for my Everything" The two were reunited for the first time since the rescue of Lt DeVoss, a downed pilot in Vietnam 32 years ago, at the Special Operations Medical Association (SOMA) conference in Dec of 01. I have asked Wayne if he can put something together with the help of all you fellow PJs as we would like to dedicate our Summer Edition of the journal to him. I need to get some more information, any help you can give us will be greatly appreciated, i.e. stories, pictures...
Thank you,
Very Respectfully,
