My recruiter stopped by and told me that the age limit for SWCC is 29 (all good, I'll be 29 this week). I knew the age limits. Then he proceeds to tell me that once I enlist in the Navy that age is waiverable to 35. I had printed out all of the info from the official website, i.e. sample contract, description of SWCC, and source rates. But, he didn't pay attention to that info. I'm just hoping that other people looking to get into this field are arming themselves with as much info as possible. It's surprising that a recruiter wouldn't want to support a recruit getting a SWCC challenge contract. I can't tell if this guy is really that clueless or if it's a bit of a smokescreen to try to get me to go with a specific rate. He always brings up jobs with big bonuses and student loan repayment. That's great and all, but I told him that's not why I'm joining the Navy. I left a message with Chief Brisco, thanks to Boatguy. This is just to tell future recruits to stand up for what you want to get. It can be a little shifty.

Like I said before, I would look for a new recruiter.

tried to edit my first post, but something happened to my internet connection. Oh well. I'm gonna try to follow Sneaky's advice. This guy seems pretty clueless. Dial up sucks!

I received a response to my e-mail to a SWCC motivator. He said to send me my address and he would get in contact with my recruiter and let him know what he needs to do. He also gave me his phone number in case "they give me any problems." The ball looks like it's finally starting to roll. Still working on my swim times. My times are still a little slow, 11:45 for my 500m sidestroke, but I'm just getting used to the sidestroke. Just getting the trick of continuing to flutterkick throughout the stroke. Realized that on the 8th lap. Epiphany. Run time are OK...passing, but not where I want them to be. I'm hoping they will allow me to get a SWCC contract with HM rate. Thanks again for all the help, guys.
