Okay here we are the results from my topic Hk vs. Glock pistol. Well let me first thank you all for your imput i have taken your advice and purchased both. A very special thanks to Mark.....hey man you really no your shit, my fins to you bro. And another thanks to Tacdabout, Tracy, and Sharky. Your informations was very valuable as well. okay when i fired to glock i noticed first its lightness and recoil system. I liked the way it responded in rapid fire and single shot. The only problem was the saftey isnt sound for this type of weapon. other than else i enjoyed its performance. Now the hk. I shot the Hk compact 9mm. very effective and since i was taught to shoot with both hands the ambidextrious saftey is a plus. the handle fits perfect in my hand and with both weapons i am able to draw them even if i had wet hands, or gloves. for the glock i made the modification of skateboard tape to give it a better feel. All in all im pleased with both. but i would take the Hk. over the glock for safety reasons. When i made this purchase there were 3question i asked myself. my q was will this weapon operate when i need it to?
my 2 q was durability.
and the 3rd q the most important q can i trust my life in this weapon if i become involed in "serious social work". Im glad that i had the opportunity to experience first had on both weapon systems. I now own the Glock 19 new version, and the Hk. compact .45. Again gents thanks for your imputs. im going to mount my gunnel.

i agree that thread was very informative.. & im using it.. as well as other resources.. to purchase my 1st gun.

i wont post n e ?'s i may have about that here..

i saw in an issue of small arms review that there is a part for glocks that converts any glock to a select fire semi/full auto. available to class 3 dealers & leo's.

edit--------
------------
it seems i got 2 things mixed up.. it is not a drop in part.. as i originally stated. u can send your glock to them or buy a glock that has already been worked on.. i did not notice that ordering the part/plans was an option.

I've never heard of a drop-in part to convert to semi/full-auto selective.

The reason I say that is a selector switch needs installing as well. On the Glock 18, that selector switch is on the left side of the pistol; which implies milling ( I believe) both the slide and lower receiver to accomodate the change.

But, it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong...

I think I have seen the seelct fire conversion for Glocks mentioned above, but
I don't think it was a drop-in conversion, I believe Tracy is right however, because the
mod I saw required a fair amount of work.

I prefer the Glock, more comfortable, plus the ease of the saftey makes it a plus. I imagine that is why police officers tend to use it so often, you pull the trigger and the saftey is off. As for those who do not like that option I understand why, but remember nobody should trust the saftey on any weapon and the Glock's trigger pull saftey system is just as safe as any saftey on any gun, just follow the saftey rules as with any gun. Glock .45 great gun! and for the price of Glocks may as well go for the .45 instead of the 9mm...more knock down!

Thank you larfive, I do appreciate it. As to the drop-in select fire device for Glocks, the system speedfreak reffered to is a different design than that of the Glock 18, and does not require perminant alteration to the weapon to install. The design is infact a new patent completely seperate from the 18's design that centers around a modular autosear that is mounted on/contained within a replacement rear cover. Therefore to convert any standard slide(everything but the 20, 21, 29, 30) Glock to select fire one must simply remove the rear cover and install the select fire system in its place. Additionaly, due to the scaleable nature of the design, units could easily be made to accomadate the lager framed Glocks also. The device looks like the standard rear cover, but with the clever addition of a small swing switch potruding from the bottom of the plate. This switch serves as the selector lever, and to select between semi and full the switch is moved right to left. Externally this selector is extremly low key, even more so than the Glock 18's, and very quick to bring into operation. The weapon still suffers from the Glock 18's Achilles heel though, with a staggering 1300rpm cyclic(aprox). Being a machine pistol though one can argue that any automatic accuracy is second to firepower and carriability/concealability.

As far as safety is concerned, the Glock paddle holster holds the weapon quite firmly and covers the trigger completely. This is important for me because I compete in the GSSF matches and have a 3.5# trigger on both my 19s. Although I carry my Glocks concealed (fortunate enough to live in a CCW state), I bought the USP Compact .45 due to its manual safe and stopping power.

As for accuracy, I have 1-2 inch groups with the Glock 19 at 25yds. and 3-4" with the H&K (standard trigger). I'm still testing ammo to see if I can tighten them up a bit, haven't ruled out the flinch factor as the H&K has a big bite compared to the 9.

Basically, I would and do trust either weapon with my life. I prefer neither one to the other, I just use them for different purposes...

I've fired several "2" series Sigs and just don't like the sight system or triggers. I know they're ultra-reliable (not Glocks, but still...) just don't like 'em.

But, opinions are like assholes. Most of them are full of Shiite.

I don't like the standard sights on the SIGS either. So I traded my old P225 for a new P225 with the Trijicon night sites.

Poly, the 225 is the best SIG ever made.

I guess it's all about what you're familiar with. My first pistol was the afore(?) mentioned 226 with the Bar-Dot, Stavehagen(?), one on top of the other deal. I love them. When I had my Novak built, I went with his Bar-Dot config as well.
