im 15 and my dream is to be a seal. i am looking at the seal challenge program. i can pass everything on the screening test, i weightlift for varsity wrestling but i have a few concerns. can someone give me any advice on swimming "better" and how can i learn to hold my breath longer to pass the 50 meter underwater swim thanks in advance
Well dude you got a couple years left before you ship out so your best bet is to just practice practice practice...Work on your technique first then begin working on your speed because in swimming unlike weights and other calistenics...brute strength won't help as much here...so if you can get your hands on Stew Smiths 12 weeks to BUD/S workout and video read the swimming section and watch the video it is really good...to do teh 50 meter underwater swim the best thing you can do is just work your way up...start off at maybe 15 meters then 25 and work your way up..but make sure you have someone there watching you (preferable a lifeguard in teh water) because there is a VERY high chance of passing out due to lack of oxygen while doing this..and if your looking for a tough workout that is realy good get Denny Chalkers Ultimate guide to Navy SEAL Fitness...It is top of the line and since he wrote it wheil he was still the Master Chief at BUD/S you know its based on the actual workouts done there
