Hats off to China: The nation Gen. Henry Shelton, chairman of the Joint
Chiefs, fears could become a "21st-century version of the Soviet bear" is
going to help his Army fill orders for 3.7 million berets. Insiders say that
the lone U.S. maker, Arkansas-based Bancroft Cap Corp., can handle only one
third of the $24 million order. China is supplying 309,000; the rest come
from South Africa, Romania, Sri Lanka, India, and Canada.

A Ranger buddy of mine sent this to me. He said that it is for real and came off of some military web site. Not sure which one. Anyone else heard anything about this?

I read the same report and was about to post it when I saw yours.

With the beret issue, Combat Missions (may the producer catch genital herpes and fall off a cliff), and now this, I'm starting to wonder where we're going.

Crazy, perhaps?
